THOMAS
HEIDTMANN
ABOUT
Thomas Heidtmann is a Berlin-based artist and artist-curator, studied at the Berlin University of the Arts. He works at the intersection of art, science, and technology.
In his expressive, colorful paintings, Heidtmann creates poetic worlds of color on canvas that oscillate between abstract and figurative styles. He brings these to life through a fabric of lines, surfaces and shapes, interwoven with figurative elements such as animals, people and faces during the painting process. He deliberately plays with contrasts and the control of coincidences, which lead to an interplay of calm and wild, translucent and opaque on the threshold between emergence and decay.
